What happens to asparagus when it rains?
Nothing disastrous. Quite the contrary. Asparagus likes a humid, temperate-warm climate, so rain is welcome. For harvesters, on the other hand, rain makes the work a little more difficult, especially in asparagus fields producing white shoots. Raising the mulch tarpaulins buried by mud and water is an arduous task that puts a strain on washing machines in particular. In the meantime, we arm ourselves with good will and, with boots and mackintoshes, face the bad weather.
